The operation of ST 0110 is based on the analysis of residual electromagnetic fields generated by a Dictaphone in operation.

Specifically developed algorithms of digitally processing the signal, and the state-of-the art hardware make it possible to detect a majority of digital and cinematic Dictaphone types from a distance of 0.3 to 1.5 m. The set is controlled, and the data are displayed, by a Pocket PC (PPC) type mini-computer, or an IBM PC-compatible computer. The use of a PPC is recommendable to keep the detection procedure unnoticed by the unwanted parties.
